DISCOVER AND CELEBRATE LIFE AMONG THE TREES
Tyler Arboretum hosts annual Tree House Festival
MEDIA, Pa (July 9, 2014) — Get ready for a day full of discovery, adventure and wildlife because the annual Tree House Festival is returning to Tyler Arboretum on Sunday, July 20, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.!
Celebrate trees and the wildlife that call trees home! Enjoy Baywing’s Falconry’s awe-inspiring Fabulous Falcons show featuring a variety of birds including hawks, falcons and more! Guests will even be able to see these fine birds of prey up close with their trainer before and after the show. If that’s not exciting enough, give your climbing skills a try and attempt to climb a tree with ropes and a harness under the supervision of Oakwood Tree Care Professionals. Additionally, kids and parents alike can learn all about what it takes to build a tree house from the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture’s Woodmobile. And, as always, there will be a variety of crafting and learning stations.
“The Fabulous Falcon show is not only a crowd pleaser, it’s a fun and interactive learning experience for both children and their parents to understand a little more about these incredible birds of prey,” said Director of Public Programs Amy Mawby. “This show, coupled with the opportunity to explore Tyler’s unique collection of tree houses and the chance to climb one of our massive trees, creates an exciting adventure straight out of our favorite story books.”
Guests will have the opportunity to explore Tyler’s collection of ten unique and inspiring treehouses by following the Totally Terrific Treehouses route around the Arboretum. Totally Terrific Treehouses celebrates trees and their role in our lives. Since the beginning of time, trees have provided humans with food, shelter, beauty and inspiration.
The Tree House Festival is free with admission and no pre-registration is necessary. The event will take place rain or shine. Gourmet pizza will be available for purchase from the Pizza Wagon. For more information, visit www.tylerarboretum.org or call (610) 566-9134.
