Directions

Tyler Arboretum is easily accessible and is a 30 to 45 minute drive from Philadelphia. The Arboretum is not served by regional buses or trains.

Directions from the Blue Route (Route 476):

Take the Blue Route to the Route 1 – Springfield/Lima exit (Exit #5). Take Route 1 Southbound to Route 352. Turn right onto Route 352 North, which goes past the Granite Run Mall. Follow Route 352 North to the first intersection after the Mall and turn right onto Barren Road. Follow Barren Road past Penncrest High School (on the right). Turn left at the next intersection (small intersection with four-way stop signs) onto Painter Road. Follow Painter Road about one mile to the Arboretum entrance, located on the right.

From Media and Springfield:
Take Baltimore Pike South to Route 352 North. Proceed as above.

From Philadelphia and Northern Areas:
Take City Line Avenue (Route 1) South to Route 352 North. Proceed as above.

From Delaware and Southern Areas:
Take I-95 North to Marcus Hook/Route 452 exit. Exit on the right and turn left onto Route 452 North. Stay on Route 452, crossing over Routes 1 and 352. Route 452 changes into Barren Road after crossing Route 352. Proceed as above.

From Newtown Square and Broomall:
Take Route 3 South to Route 252. Follow Route 252 towards Media. Turn right onto Rose Tree Road. Follow Rose Tree Road to Painter Road. Turn right onto Painter Road and follow about 2 miles to the Arboretum parking lot on the right.

From Delaware (Alternate), Chadds Ford and Kennett Square:
Take Route 202 North to Route 1. Follow Route 1 North to intersection of Route 452. Turn left onto Route 452. Stay on Route 452, crossing over Route 352. Route 452 changes into Barren Road after crossing Route 352. Proceed as above.

Seniors (65+): $9
Children (ages 3-15): $7
Children under the age of 3: free

Cash, personal check, and credit card (Visa, Master Card, Discover, AmEx) are accepted.

August 1, 2016: ACCESS/EBT holders

Through an exciting partnership with Art-Reach Philly, Tyler Arboretum is one of 31 cultural organizations participating in the ACCESS Admission Program. PA residents who are ACCESS cardholders can visit Tyler for just $2 per person.

Simply present your ACCESS/EBT card and receive admission for up to four individuals, at $2 each. Please note, this offer is not valid with any other offer or group rate. Visitors must present their ACCESS/EBT card to receive the discount. Not valid on special exhibitions or features, or with any other offers or groups rate. Please note:

  • Members please show photo ID with membership card.
  • Pets and bikes are not permitted on Arboretum grounds.
  • There is limited ADA accessibility. Several paths at Tyler are unpaved, with steep grades.
  • Tyler’s Visitor Center sells bottled drinks and snacks. Visitors are welcome to bring food and drinks; picnic tables are located just outside the Visitor Center.

Tyler Arboretum may photograph, film, or videotape visitors for educational and promotional purposes. Admission to the Arboretum and/or participation in our classes, events, and programs, is implied consent for the use of the holder’s likeness, voice, or video image for marketing purposes.
