Members' Reception
  

Members of Tyler Arboretum are cordially invited to attend the annual Members' Reception, featuring guest speaker Doug Tallamy, Ph.D., who will present "Gardening for Life."
   

Date:  Thursday, May 15, 2008

Time: Dinner 6:30 -- 8 pm, Lecture 8 -- 9 pm

Cost: Dinner & Lecture $35, Lecture only $10

Menu: Enjoy a selection of appetizers; wine, beer, and sodas; and a dinner buffet including salad, roasted pork loin, apple cornbread stuffing, wild mushroom and spinach lasagna, and dessert.

About the speaker:

Dr. Doug Tallamy is Professor and Chair of the Department of Entomology and Wildlife Ecology at the University of Delaware. He has
authored over 65 research articles and has taught Insect Taxonomy, Behavioral Ecology, and other courses for 26 years. Chief among his research goals is to better understand the many ways insects interact with plants and how such interactions determine the diversity of animal communities. His lecture will include ways to transform sterile landscapes into vibrant communities that support wildlife and are aesthetically pleasing. Signed copies of his new book,
Bringing Nature Home; How Native Plants Sustain Wildlife in Our Gardens, will be available for purchase after his presentation.
