Join ecologist Steve Tessler on a walk devoted to observing, catching and learning about the variety of spiders found at Tyler Arboretum. The walk will pass through meadows and woods, and include a visit to a dense colony of purse-web spiders native only to Delaware County. These spiders are related to tarantulas and construct a tube of silk attached to the base of trees and shrubs, extending underground. Learn more about this fascinating spider and help dig some up for observation. This 2.5 mile hike will include moderate terrain. Dress for the weather and bring a camera, water and a snack. Appropriate for teens and adults.
