Join Richard Brenner and Jado Foot on a Pine Barrens trip to historic Whitesbog Village for a guided tour of the cranberry harvest at the historic bogs. The trip will begin in the morning with a visit to Atsion State Park to see migrating birds and native blooming flora, including the endangered Pine Barrens gentian, orange milkwort and carnivorous plants. We will then have lunch at Lucille’s Country Cooking, a rustic, delicious and inexpensive Pine Barrens establishment before heading off to the bogs. Transportation, beverage and snacks provided; as an option, bring a bag lunch. Comfortable walking shoes and insect repellent are advised. Bring binoculars and field guides if you have them.
Pre-registration required; $55 members, $65 non-members
