Tyler at Twilight Auction

The annual Tyler at Twilight Auction affords guests an exceptional garden party atmosphere complete with music, cocktails and silent and live auctions. Enjoy a display from some of the best local dining and shopping establishments in our area, complemented by sumptuous menu selections from local restaurants. As our largest fundraising event, the Tyler at Twilight Auction has grown tremendously since its inception and is now in its eleventh consecutive year!

Pumpkin Days Fall Festival

One of the area’s premier fall festival events. Each year, Tyler’s Pumpkin Days welcomes between 3,500 and 5,000 children and adults from the surrounding communities to the Arboretum. It’s a fun-filled weekend which includes music, food, crafts, games, a haunted barn, hayrides, and much more! The next Pumpkin Days event will be held on Saturday, October 19 and Sunday, October 20, 2013.

Pancake Breakfast & Maple Sugaring Celebration

Tyler Arboretum’s famous all-you-can-eat Pancake Breakfast and Maple Sugaring Celebration is a much anticipated spot to chase away the winter blues. This fun family event features a brisk walk to one of the Arboretum’s sugar maples. Learn how to tap a tree for sap and discover how sap is turned into delicious maple syrup. Then, satisfy hungry appetites in the historic Barn for a yummy pancake and sausage breakfast with all the trimmings.

Fee: Adults: $12, Children (ages 3-12) $6, Under 3 FREE.

No pre-registration required. Guest passes, reciprocal admissions & coupons are not accepted. All proceeds benefit the Arboretum.

Annual Plant Sale

Garden lovers from around the region mark their calendars for Tyler Arboretum’s Annual Plant Sale. Filled with plants sure to please the novice and expert gardener alike. This year’s sale features a special selection of plants grown for their fragrance. Perfect for Mother’s Day gifts, shoppers can choose from plants with aromatic flowers or foliage ranging from delectably sweet to exotically spicy. As always, there will be a strong assortment of deer resistant plants. Our plant experts will be on hand to help select the best plants for individual landscapes and gardens and our volunteers will help pack and load your new treasures for the ride home. All proceeds benefit the Arboretum.

Admission to the Arboretum is free to everyone for Saturday’s event.

Brews and Bluegrass Chiller
Friday, June 21, 7:00 – 9:00 pm
Start your weekend in style with the perfect combination of live bluegrass music, a sampling of specialty beers from Pinocchio’s Beer Garden To Go (which features an extensive collection of 800 craft beers), and a selection of gourmet pizza.

Fairy and Wizard Festival
Sunday, June 30, 10:00 am – 2:00 pm
Join us to celebrate all that is magical in nature. Learn about owls, flowers, toads, and mushrooms. Your family can create a miniature Fairy House or Gnome Home with natural materials to shelter Tyler’s magical inhabitants. Kids can enjoy crafting fairy wands, halos, wizard hats, and magical potpourri to take home. Entertainment includes two Magic Shows featuring Happy the Clown (in her fairy wings) and a Fairy and Wizard Parade led by members of the Penncrest High School Drum Line. Event proudly presented by the Tooth Fairy in partnership with Dental Heatlh Care Associates… the First Green Dental Office on the East Coast!

Tree House Festival
Sunday, July 21, 10:00 am – 2:00 pm
Celebrate trees and the wildlife that makes them their home! Enjoy an awesome raptor show featuring a
variety of hawks and falcons, and see them up close with their trainer before and after the show. Members of the William Rush Woodcarvers Club will present interactive carving demonstrations as well as their finished works of art. Not to be missed is the opportunity for kids to climb a tree like the professional arborists, using ropes and harness under the supervision of Oakwood Tree Care Professionals.

Butterfly Festival
Saturday, August 24, 10:00 am – 2:00 pm
Say a fond farewell to the monarch butterflies as they are tagged and released for their southern migration to Mexico! Experts will be on hand with tips on creating a butterfly friendly habitat in home gardens with all their favorite plants. Discover bugs like never before with amazing live specimens brought by the Insectarium and learn about using worms to create great compost! Games and make-and-take crafts round out the day.
