Educational Programs

School Field Trips and Scout Programs
Tyler Arboretum is pleased to provide opportunities for groups of children of all ages to learn about natural living systems through the use of the Arboretum's diverse resources. School field trip subjects include
Scout programs may be scheduled on weekends, after school hours, and on school holidays. Staff members are available to assist scouts to fulfill a variety of badge requirements. Subjects include Introduction to Hiking; Seasonal Hike; Wildlife Management: Birds and Trees; Conservation. In addition, Eagle Scouts may successfully complete projects under Arboretum staff supervision.

Fees for School Field Trips and Scout Programs: $5/student for each program; K and Pre-school, $4/student. Special rates are available for multiple trips in different seasons. We require a minimum of ten students for field trips and scout programs. Groups of less than ten are welcome to use Tyler's grounds for self-guided tours for the price of admission. Scolarships Available: 

For more than a decade, Tyler 's Education Department has provided school field trip scholarships to many economically challenged students by either waiving fees and/or offering substantial fee reductions to low-income level schools. Adult and Family Programs

Tyler Arboretum publishes a quarterly newsletter that lists a variety of seasonal adult and family programs, including workshops, lectures, guided bird, wildflower and other rambles, historic building tours and off-site field trips. Tiny Trackers programs for children aged four to six are offered monthly. Guided adult group tours are available by appointment.
