  filled.</span></strong></p>\n<p>Just for Tyler members\, this is a rare o
 pportunity to hear\, and hopefully see\, some of the owls that call the Ar
 boretum home. The evening begins with a short indoor program to learn abou
 t these silent nocturnal birds of prey. Then\, we will take a short hike t
 o try to call in some owls.</p>\n<p>Winter is a great time to call in owls
  because they are setting up and defending nesting territories\, looking f
 or mates and they respond readily to recorded calls. Once back inside\, yo
 ung scientists will have the opportunity to dissect owl pellets to learn w
 hat owls eat. Hot drinks and snacks offer a delicious end to the evening. 
 Dress warmly\, wear footwear appropriate for uneven trails and bring a fla
 shlight. <em>This program is suitable for children age 6 and older.</em></
 p>
